Aviation and Space Symposium

Our conference invited to a full day of discussions in the fields of aviation and space travel and featured expert panels on senior and C-levels. In addition, the integrated ‘Space Law’ forum provided an insight into and outlook on regulations and legislation, including contributions from the Swiss Space Office and the European Space Agency. The Swiss Helicopter Association (SHA) co-organized and presented current innovations in the helicopter industry at the Rotorcraft Forum, and the Swiss Aerospace Cluster invited to an open day for specialist groups, providing insights into the work of the individual competence areas of the aerospace network.

Comprehensive programme on two stages

During the entire symposium, an extensive program was offered on two stages for 200 guests of the sold out event. In addition to the welcoming address by Swiss astronaut Claude Nicollier, German astronaut Ulrich Walter fascinated the audience with a unique and multimedia view into the origins of the universe (an excerpt from the new planetarium show ‘Origins Soirée’). Benedikt Würth (Die Mitte, St. Gallen), a member of the Council of States, provided information from the federal government in Bern on Switzerland's 2040 aerospace strategy.

Guests of honour and premieres

Further guests of honour included Pascale Ehrenfreund, President of the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR), documentary filmmaker Torsten Hoffmann (who presented his NewSpace documentary FORTITUDE) as well as EPFL innovation economist and Uni St. Gallen Fellow Dominique Foray. 30 speakers and panel guests enriched the conference part, which will also be accompanied by an industry exhibition on 1,200 m2. For this purpose, the foyer of Hall 9.0 was converted into a marketplace with a meeting zone and talent fair, including an exhibition of the new Aero2 from Dufour Aerospace, another Swiss premiere.
